In 1946 a 28 year old Arthur Joseph Stockmeister Aka "A.J." started as a plumber in the Southeastern Ohio area. He previously gained his mechanical experience through the United States Navy while part of the Seabees as a Plumber. He began to grow many relationships with his "Do the job right and have fun doing it!" attitude. In 1960 A.J. formed A.J. Stockmeister, Inc. (AJS) a mechanical contracting firm. Over time AJS has grown to be the most accomplished mechanical contracting firm in Southern Ohio.

In 1974 Alan Arthur Stockmeister joined the Stockmeister workforce. A.J. and Alan began to see the need for a general contracting firm in Southeastern Ohio. In 1982 Stockmeister Enterprises, Inc. (SEI) a general contracting firm was then founded. Over the past 20 years SEI has become the most accomplished general contracting firm in Southern Ohio.

Again in 1992, Alan noticed another need in the construction industry. To fill the need, Foremost Mgmt., Inc. (FMI) was formed. FMI is a firm designed to provide construction management services and design/build management services. FMI is an integral part of the role that the Stockmeister Companies play in many private and public projects in recent years.
